This is not the trip that I had planned for this year. I had originaly planned a nice long two to three month tour through eastern Canada. Work was going well but then the bike broke down with its phantom electrical problem. That took almost two months to get sorted (bad fuse block) so I stayed at work, bought another motorcycle and waited for the end of my work.

So fast forward to the end of August. The work is finished and I just had to get on the bike. My original trip was out of the question as it was too late in the year to be riding in northern Labrador. So I decided on just staying in Ontario and following the lake shore heading west and then north. I would go along Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, Lake St. Clair, Lake Huron and finally Georgian Bay.

With a new purpose it was time to get going. Most of the gear I was going to need I had purchased over the previous months so there was nothing really needed. The bike had extra Rotopax fuel tanks added plus the storage pack. I bought some meats, portioned it and froze it so I could throw it in the cooler and have it last for a few days. All the freeze dried food was stored in a waterproof barrel.

I had packed everything I needed the night before which led to a longer night and then I slept in so I was already behind when I woke up. The elevators in my building were doing the usual slow dance so it took almost an hour to get the bike loaded.

So the bike is now loaded and ready to roll.

The trip, for the most part, was quite uneventful. As I reached Port Colbourne I checked my E.T.A. on the Garmin and it was estimating that I would not arrive until close to sundown. Not really wanting to setup camp in the dark or near dark I decided to take a quicker route. I have ridden most of this ride along the lake before so cutting out the close shore line riding didn't bother me. Arrived safe at my destination - Wheatley Provincial Park. So without further ado I give you day one time lapse video.

As I was still a little revved up after the first day ride so I played around with the camera and a flashlight and took pictures of the camp site at night.
